South Dakota & Wyoming 8/3/10-8/5/10

We were able to stay the night in Spearfish, South Dakota, with Auntie Cheryl.

We saw Mount Rushmore from the car, but didn't realize it costs $10 to get into the park. We did find a turn-off that allowed a distant profile view of Washington to get this group shot.

We took a stretch break at the welcome center & playground in Wright, WY.

Lucky Camp Site #13. We almost camped in Alcova, WY, but we realized that we had left the tent behind in MN.

At least we were in the car when the big storm caught up with us!

Travel to SD 8/1/10 & 8/2/10

Mitchell, South Dakota, is the home of the World's Only Corn Palace.

Emerson wasn't completely terrified of Cornelius, but he wasn't too thrilled about the photo opportunity.

We saw tons of signs for Wall Drug and HAD to stop. Free water, tasty donuts, jackalopes, and a schooner--who could ask for anything more?

Minneapolis, MN 7/29/10-8/1/10

Emerson finally got to meet Auntie Katie, Steve, Emma, and the rest of the Murray zoo!

We went to Choo Choo Bob's...

where Emerson played at Legoland;

And we visited a fun Splash pad!
